How to find Graveler in Rocky Ridges

Published 6/20/2026

How to build the Mossy Boulder habitat, complete Machoke's follow-up request, and recruit Graveler to unlock the Rollout move.

Graveler and the story

After you befriend Machoke and clear the Pokémon Center path, Machoke mentions that Graveler was sent ahead to clear high paths in Rocky Ridges but never came back. Professor Tangrowth asks you to find it.

Building the Mossy Boulder habitat

You need a Mossy Boulder habitat before Graveler appears. A plain boulder is not enough.

Find a boulder near the hot springs by the southwestern entrance to the mines. Before you use Leafage on it, eat a Salad first. The Salad changes how Leafage works, making it grow moss on the boulder instead of regular grass. Use Leafage after eating and the Mossy Boulder habitat forms.

Machoke's follow-up request

Progress through Machoke's storyline until Professor Tangrowth says he needs time to think. At that point, Machoke gives you a task: cut down a fence blocking a path. Use your cutting move to clear it.

Once the fence is gone, Machoke tells you about Graveler's disappearance. This triggers Graveler to retreat to your sanctuary to recover.

Finding Graveler

Head back to your sanctuary. Graveler is resting near the Mossy Boulder habitat. Talk to it to check in. Once it recovers, Graveler joins your area and teaches you the Rollout move.

What Rollout does

Rollout lets you shift large boulders that Strength cannot handle. It opens up the upper sections of Rocky Ridges, including routes deeper into the mines.

Graveler's specialty is Crush, which generates stone and ore over time. Place it near your Build Queue area to keep materials stocked.
