You can only find Magnemite after the credits

Magnemite is not available during regular gameplay. You need to complete the main story and watch the credits first. Once you reload your save, head to the Withered Wasteland.

Where to look

Go to the spot in Withered Wasteland where the mysterious tower used to stand. After completing the story, the tower is gone and a large hole has opened up in the ground where it once was. Drop down into that hole. Magnemite is waiting at the bottom.

What Magnemite asks for

Speak to Magnemite and it will start the request called Help Make Me a Home! It wants you to build a Factory Storage habitat before it will move in.

The habitat needs four items:

• 1 Jumbled Cords — found near the bottom of the hole
• 1 Metal Drum — also found near the quest start
• 1 Streetlight (any type) — the Mushroom Lamp is the easiest to craft
• 1 Control Unit — found in Sparkling Skylands on the northeast island, inside the ruined office buildings

Once you have all four items, place the Factory Storage habitat and speak to Magnemite again to complete the quest.

What you unlock

After the quest is complete, Magnemite teaches Ditto the Magnet Rise transformation. This lets you float freely in all directions and builds dramatically faster than any other form. It is considered the best building ability in the game.

Tracking it in Pokopia Companion

Add the Factory Storage habitat to your Build Queue and open the Shopping List. It will show you exactly which of the four materials you still need to gather, combined with anything else you are already working on.
