How to wake up Mosslax in Pokopia
Published 6/20/2026
A step-by-step walkthrough of the Brighten Things Up quest on Bleak Beach, covering how to restore electricity and wake the moss-covered Snorlax.
Finding Mosslax
Mosslax is in Bleak Beach, which unlocks after you clear the Withered Wasteland. Talk to Trubbish when you arrive and follow the sounds coming from behind one of the walls. Break through to find Mosslax, a moss-covered Snorlax in a deep slumber. The quest Brighten Things Up starts here.
Restoring electricity
Mosslax wakes up when the area has enough light and power. Head to the southwest corner of Bleak Beach and find the Wood Furnace. Fill it with at least 30 logs to power the area's electrical system.
Next, place Utility Poles around the island to extend the electricity's reach. Each pole lights up yellow at the top when connected. Place them close enough to a lamppost that a yellow dotted line appears between them. That line means the lamppost is powered.
Lighting the streetlights
Talk to Meowth once the poles are up. Meowth calls Pawmi, who uses the Generate ability to light streetlights across Bleak Beach. Walk around the area with Pawmi and activate each one.
If the quest stalls, look for speech bubbles nearby. A speech bubble always signals a new objective. No bubble means you have not lit enough lights or have a gap in your pole chain.
Waking Mosslax
Once enough lights are on, Peakychu absorbs electricity from the powered device near Mosslax. Head back to Mosslax with Peakychu. The energy is finally enough to stir it awake, and the clouds part over Bleak Beach.
After the quest
Mosslax stays in Bleak Beach once awake. Check the Habitat Dex to see what habitat it prefers if you want it closer to your base. Its specialty is Rest, which ties into the mood and comfort systems that matter more as you build out the area.
