The complete fossil guide 🦕

Published 6/20/2026

Every fossil in Pokémon Pokopia, the pieces each one needs, where to find them by area, and how to use the Habitat Dex once your set is complete.

How fossils work

Pokémon Pokopia handles fossils differently from other games. No machine revives them here. You collect fossil pieces, bring them to the Pewter Museum in Rocky Ridges, and place complete sets on the Pedestals inside. That creates a fossil display habitat, and the habitat is what draws the Pokémon to your area. There are 22 fossil pieces across all five areas, unlocking 9 fossil Pokémon in total.

Single-piece fossils

Four fossil Pokémon need just one piece each. Find the fossil, take it to the Museum, and place it.

Where to find fossil pieces

Fossil pieces appear as glowing blocks across all five areas. Break every glowing block you see. Each area has a higher concentration of specific sets:

  • Rocky Ridges: Wing Fossil (5 parts), Despot Fossil (3 parts), Jaw Fossil (1)

  • Withered Wasteland: Shield Fossil (3 parts), Armor Fossil (1)

  • Bleak Beach: Tundra Fossil (3 parts), Sail Fossil (1)

  • Sparkling Skylands: Headbutt Fossil (3 parts), Skull Fossil (1)

  • Palette Town: Fossil pieces can drop here too, including the remaining Despot Fossil part.

Pieces from other sets can turn up anywhere, but farming the listed area for each set is the fastest approach.

Using the Habitat Dex on Pokopia Companion

Once you place a complete set on a Pedestal, open the Habitat Dex and search for that fossil Pokémon. The Dex shows whether it needs anything beyond the fossil display itself, such as a specific biome or habitat tier. Do not assume the fossil alone is enough. Build out whatever the Dex lists, then wait. The Pokémon will show up once all its conditions are met.
